I started my internship at B&S after a few months of searching for an internship and a few job events where I actually met Angelique and got to know the company.

My main project during the internship was focused on creating and implementing an internal process to ensure that confectionery items that will be imported are compliant with EU regulations. At the end the process was implemented slowly in the daily operations.

When it was time for me to decide whether I would like to stay and work in the company there were several things I took into consideration. The main one was the culture of the company. I highly appreciated everyone’s willingness to help and teach everyone around. I saw this as a good opportunity for the beginning of my professional career since I will be able to gain a lot of knowledge and skills. So, I will stay for a job after my internship!

To all interns I would say that they should focus on learning as much as possible about the company and its operations to be proactive and curious and at the end to evaluate whether this is a suitable workplace for them.

My internship experience was very positive, especially in terms of being part of the intern community. As a graduating student with a slightly different schedule, I didn’t always overlap with others in the office, but when I did, the environment was welcoming and open-minded. I really appreciated being surrounded by interns from different departments and international backgrounds it reflected the diverse and vibrant student culture of the city.

Although I didn’t get the chance to collaborate directly with many interns due to our different tasks, I still felt a strong sense of community. The orientation day and the intern event were real highlights for me; they gave us the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and get to know each other beyond our roles.

For future interns, I highly recommend reaching out across departments. Internships are the perfect time to explore, ask questions, and learn from others’ experiences. Programs like buddy days are great ways to discover different perspectives, which can lead to unexpected insights or even new career ideas. Exchanging knowledge and simply talking with others can be more valuable than you expect.

Doing my internship at B&S wasn’t just about gaining work experience. It was also about connecting with other interns and feeling part of something bigger.

From the start, there were regular meetups with fellow interns. Every four weeks or so, we’d do something fun together. From small activities at the office to a full day out. One of my favorite memories? The intern day in Utrecht! We had a city scavenger hunt, followed by a pub quiz and drinks. It was such a fun way to get to know each other better.

What really stood out to me was how diverse the group was. There were interns from all kinds of departments and even from different countries. That made for some really interesting conversations and gave me new perspectives on both work and life. It’s inspiring to hear how others see things differently.

Having other interns around made everything feel a lot more relaxed. You could hang out during lunch, talk about how your day was going, or just support each other if something felt challenging. It’s nice knowing you’re not the only one figuring things out.

The Student Affairs team was also super helpful. If I had questions or anything I wasn’t sure about, they were always there. Even for things I didn’t feel like discussing with my supervisor. They really made me feel supported during my time here.

If you’re thinking about doing an internship at B&S, my advice is: connect with other interns and explore different departments. There’s so much to learn from each other and it makes the experience way more fun and valuable.

As an Events Marketing Intern at King of Reach (B&S), the biggest project I worked on was the preparation and activation for easyJet’s Sky High Awards Event. I was responsible for coming up with the activation idea. I also took care of communication with different suppliers, and I even had the chance to travel to the UK to help run the stand at the event itself.

This internship gave me the chance to put my marketing knowledge from Avans University into practice. I learned to work more efficiently with tools like Canva, improved my writing for social media and promotional materials, and became more aware of how to use the right tone and calls to action in a corporate setting. I also developed stronger time management and task prioritisation skills.

What made this internship truly special was the freedom I was given to explore beyond events and collaborate with the design, branding, and digital teams. I gained a better understanding of how different parts of marketing work together and discovered which areas I’m most interested in. The variety of tasks kept it interesting and made me feel like a real part of the team.

Thanks to Angelique and her team, we also had chances to bond with the other interns through games and fun activities. We even attended a helpful workshop that gave us valuable insights into the corporate world.

My department, and especially my supervisor, were incredibly supportive and kind. I always felt like I could ask for help and was guided with a lot of patience and understanding. This internship has been a great learning experience, both professionally and personally.

I greatly appreciated the positive and collaborative atmosphere here at the company. The team consistently fosters an environment of open communication and mutual support, making it easy to share ideas and work together efficiently. This collaborative culture has not only facilitated my personal growth but has also contributed to a highly productive and engaging work experience.

I also had the opportunity to connect with the other interns, and collaborating with them has been both enjoyable and enriching.

The series of intern events organised throughout the program have been particularly valuable, providing a great platform for us to come together, build relationships, and expand our professional network.
